Artistically Stellar Strokes
Our intent is brought to life through art that prioritises critical analysis and purposeful expression across all key stages. Lessons ensure that students do not merely replicate art, but use a wide range of materials to explore and express their own imaginative identities.
Frank’ly Fantastic-Four Year Art - EYFS
Nursery has been exploring the theme of the sky and space. As part of this learning, the children created their own paper plate planets, selecting a range of colours to make them unique. Some children enjoyed using their fingers to paint, while others chose to use paintbrushes to carefully apply their designs.
Drawn Games that Draw Smiles - KS1
As part of our Art project, Year 1 pupils designed and created their own funfair games for our end-of-term celebration. They explored a range of media, including paint, pens, tissue paper, hooks and fabric, developing skills in cutting, measuring, painting and sewing to produce imaginative games such as ‘Hook a Dinosaur’, ‘Shape in Row’, ‘Spin the Wheel’, ‘Throw a Ball and ‘Find the Balloon’.
Paper, Fabric, Space: Art-tastic - LKS1
The children in year 3 successfully bridged the gap between artistic analysis and expressive creation. Pupils explored the diverse styles of Chila Kumari Singh Burman, Yinka Shonibare and Louise Bourgeois to produce these original paper sculptures. This process allowed them to experiment with form and space, demonstrating the confidence to use physical materials as a vehicle for their own imaginative ideas.
Drawing Strength from Struggle - UKS2
Year 6 pupils successfully embodied the school's art intent by working as analytical artists. Through carefully navigating the complexities of historical trauma, they demonstrated an ability to produce original, emotive, respectful pieces of art. This project highlights their confidence in using art as a tool for exploring and communicating human experiences.
